Vajont Dam disaster (50 years)

The catastrophic event - Vajont Dam near Longarone  happened (09 October 1963) 50 years ago.
An incredibly massive landslide came down into the lake causing it to shot up in the air in a massive 200m tzunami. That day the town of Longarone was wiped out. The Vajont dam is made of steel-reinforced concrete and it’s one of the tallest dams in the world – 262m high, 27m thick at the base and 3.4m at the top and managed to withstay the landslide coming into it. The dam itself was largely undamaged — the top metre or so of masonry was washed away, but the basic structure remained intact, still exists today and will remain so hundreds of thousands years from now.
Estimates of the dead range from 1,900 to 2,500 people, and about 350 families lost all members. Most of the survivors had lost relatives and friends along with their homes and belongings.
487 dead children with less than 15th years old in that catastrophic event :(
on every piece of fabric, it's the name of a child
on white fabrics there are unborn childs
Well, it's embarassing for me, but I didn't knew a thing  about this disaster till this summer when I was in Longarone. Then I watched the movie, when I got home and  I had goosebumps and I was terrified .. I am terrifiend and I'm sorry for all the innocent people, children.. that have lost their lives that day.
''Vajont 1963-2013 ... per non dimenticare '' (which means ''...not to forget'') was called this event on 20 July 2013 organized by the Vespa Club Porcia on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the immense tragedy of the Vajont dam.
